How to improve the internal link structure of your website

links

There are several things that you can do to improve the rankings of special pages on your website:

  • Make sure that the most important pages on your site can be reached with as few clicks as possible from your home page. The fewer clicks you need to get to a web page, the more important it looks to search engines.
  • Link to the pages for which you want to have high rankings from all pages of your website that are related to that page. The easiest way to get related links to a web page is to link from your own website.

We decided today to make a new website and see how long it takes to get a website in the Google index. We decided to be a Roofer in Bangor. We have built the site in CSS, from scratch and have set ourselves 48 hours to get the site live. I hear you cry “WHAT 48 hours?”, yes we feel that if a site is built correctly and written with good content and also using a few of our own non disclosure techniques, a website can get to the first page of Google very, very quickly.

alt image attribute

In Google’s webmaster guidelines, they advise the use of alternative text for the images on your web site:

Images:

Use the alt attribute to provide descriptive text. In addition, we recommend using a human-readable caption and descriptive text around the image.

Why would they ask us to do that?

The answer is simple, really; search engines have the same problem as blind users. They cannot see the images.

So 2007 is over, SEO in 2007 changed dramatically. Best practices shifted on a monthly basis, and time-honored methods became obsolete and dangerous – literally overnight. Here are a few of the big changes that made webmasters think in terms of online website organic marketing.

Reciprocal links. In May of 2007, Realtors who relied heavily on reciprocal links started to sob as -30 penalties were dished out by Google, harming their business. It became clear that the decade-old tradition of reciprocal links programs was over. Done. Finished. Time to get one way links.
