Due to the fact that Customer Street is such a huge network, we need to understand when changes are implemented and introduced on our network of sites, what outcome they have on the search engines. I recently bought an Apple iTouch. Having used it online it came to my attention that CustomerStreet only has one facility for using a mobile device in WAP screen size format from all our network of directories.

Apple iTouch

We are currently in development to add this facility to our directories. The site will auto detect what the user is viewing the site with (mobile, PDA and browser). This will then display our directories in the best possible format for the user.

A recent study carried out by Hitwise showed that 55% of Google users are male, whereas 58% of MSN users were female. Did you know that paid search listings are most likely to be clicked on my females and organic ads are most likely by males.

Women 56.9% 43.1%

Men 65.4% 34.6%

Google and Yahoo are used mostly by users who are under the age of 34 while MSN is used widely by users who are over 55. Visitors to Google sites are 42% more likely to buy online than the average internet user.

Google has always strived to give the end user the best and most appropriate results for the end user and has managed this very successfully and will continue to do so. Google Analytics was launched to give webmasters the ability to track websites via a small piece of java code that Google will track for you and give you the most accurate stats it can for your websites. Well it has just got better.

You can now track multiple data points in one graph, track downloads, track specific pages and much much more. Google have released this in beta mode for all users, one thing you will need to do is remove the old urchin.js code and replace it with the new ga.js code.
