I today read an article in regard to trying to cheat Google’s penalizing of paid links. As some of you might not be aware, Google does not like paid link campaigns due to the fact that anyone with money can then manipulate there page rank and listings on the SERP’s by buying links from sites that hold weight with Google.

links loophole

To find out more go to an article I wrote about paid links back in October.Directories that are trusted by Google are not frowned upon by Google for links to client sites. We are one of the small few.

How to improve the internal link structure of your website

links

There are several things that you can do to improve the rankings of special pages on your website:

  • Make sure that the most important pages on your site can be reached with as few clicks as possible from your home page. The fewer clicks you need to get to a web page, the more important it looks to search engines.
  • Link to the pages for which you want to have high rankings from all pages of your website that are related to that page. The easiest way to get related links to a web page is to link from your own website.

Are you aware of the penalties for using hidden text? This out dated technique is Spam. Never try to add keywords or text to a page, in the same color font as the exact background color, thus making text appear hidden.

Spam Alert: Don’t EVER use hidden text, hidden links or hidden “anything” on a page unless you want to risk setting off some warning flags and risk getting in trouble.

People do search for the strangest things. I can across this when I was looking at search terms looked for on the internet. This just shows each searcher is individual and you should consider all walks of life when optimising a site for the search engines.

Don’t just optimise for the most obvious terms, it may be better to go for a niche term that other websites might not be aiming for, for one you will have less competition which will make it easier for you to get you site higher up the SERP’s for that phrase.
