Today we launched MoreUK’s new look, a part of the Customer Street group. We looked at the current directory style and realised that it was very difficult to read.

We have now added more colour and also added a Google map to make navigation to a business easier. We feel the look is now more appealing and hope you do too. If you have any ideas on things that you would like on MoreUK please don’t hesitate in contacting me. leejohnson@customerstreet.com

Thought it was time to give an update on how Bangor roofing is doing on Google. Here is the initial Bangor Roofing article if you need to catch up

Just to recap, I was asked to test to see how quickly a site can be indexed on Google and more importantly what sort of positions I can archive for a roofer in Bangor.

We bought a brand new name and built a website from scratch, the site went live Friday morning.

Here are the results:

Does Google change their algorithms to artificially promote new pages?

Hard to say but there is evidence that QDF exists.

Question?

What is QDF?

Google calls the Query Deserves Freshness (QDF).

The QDF basically looks at the current search volume and then the blog post volume to determine if a subject is considered to be hot. If hot, then Google may promote new content to the top of the results. But if this is from June 2007, why are we first really seeing this now? BlogStorm said because there was “no previous search history” for that query and that is why we now see tons of new results.

Question:

Have you ever gone to a website and the content text size is too small or you would like the ability to change the size to suit your requirements?

Website text

Customer Street have decided that on all our Customer Street blogs this facility will be implemented. We are looking at ways to integrate this to make the viewer have more control over what they are viewing on our network of business directories and portals. Even though you think you can read the content well, remember each viewer is an individual and has different requirements, loves and hates, colours etc.
