For: People can observe them creating revenu for the industry We can easily track their feeding habits and their behaviors etc… Against: Humpback whales are a wild species and belong in nature Removing species from nature can upset the balance of an ecosystem.

Reasons for are hard to justify. Seeing whales close up and personal is an educational thing. Caring for them helps us understand them. If they’re a threatened species, captive breeding might help preserve them. Reasons against are easy… I’ll leave it to you. But you wouldn’t want to be imprisoned, would you? The slowly increasing awareness of the interconnections of all species and their right to be undisturbed in their place in the world is something that gives us hope that we might learn our true place in this world.

How long is a typical Humpback Whale song? Only male Humpback Whales sing, and populations in different parts of the world each have their own version of the tune. The song may vary from place to place, but the length stays about the same.

  10. Humpback Whale The “singing whales,” male humpbacks communicate through unique songs, with some intricate compositions lasting 10 minutes or more. http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/blueplanet/sounds/sounds.html

  11. Humpback whales migration, please help? How do humpback whales have the ability to navigate in a particular direction? ( north, south, east, west) THANK YOU SO MUCH

  12. Nobody knows for certain. Their navigation seems to be more accurate than what sailors could achieve navigating by the sun and a compass, so even if they have a “sixth sense” that detects magnetism, it doesn’t fully explain it.

  13. lionman says:

There like Pigeons they have a Built-in-Compass and it works with Magnetism. Also there instincts help. Hope this Helps! :D
