MSN Webmaster Tools Launch

Finally MSN has pulled there finger out and added webmaster tools to their portfolio. It has only been opperational for a small while but I am signed up and have been testing the facility. Some of the things MSN allows you do is:

Validate your robots text:

This is a very useful tool so you dont acidently block MSN spiders from your website. I would advise all to use this tool when submitting a site via the MSN webmaster tools.

Check the summary of the site:

This is quite an interesting part to the tools. It show visually the rank of the top 5 pages of your website. It also shows when MSN last crawled the pages and if the pages are blocked for any reason.

The page also shows how many pages that MSN knows about in their index.

Profile Tab

The next tab is dedicated to verification of your site and also allows you to submit a sitemap. You can also signup for a monthly newsletter but I have net yet recieved mine yet so i cannot comment on what it is like. Fingers crossed it will help all webmasters with understanding what MSN is up too and what they expact from a site to get a high listing.
