Two months at Customerstreet

It has been nearly two months I have been with Customerstreet; what a two months it has been. There is so much to do and not the time to do it. We have been looking into our trade specific directories and what we can do to improve them. Google Analytics has been a great help looking at the keywords most people have been typing in and looking at the existing text and making amendments to make the directories work harder for us so we receive more searches per trade specific directory.

Major Search Engine Changes

As some of you may have noticed that Google and MSN have also been very busy over the last couple of months too. Giving me a small headache. Now the new Google PageRank re-rank and also MSN’s indexing system changes is starting to calm down (4 times bigger index than it was before). We are starting to be able to see where we in the eyes of the search engines with regard to any penalties that they may have imposed for any clients sites or our own directories. This will take a little time to analyze but we will update you shortly so come back soon.

We DO NOT use underhand tactics

We do not use any old or frowned on tactics to help our directories, we try to follow the google guidelines to help get the most from our clients sites and our directories from the SERPs (search engine results pages). All our trade specific Directories are built by a team called the portals team who build each directory from scratch and add all there own content. I would like to thank them for all the hard work they are putting in to help us become the most dominent force in the directory industry.

Pagerank Update

Two of our main directories have moved in the right direction as both have been around for just over 6 months and have gone from a PR (pagerank) of zero to a PR4. The signs are good and when we look at the stats in more detail over the next month we will get a better understanding of what the changes mean and have made to us as a business and also to our clients.

I will be adding more to this article when we have divulged all the stats that we have floating round (we have loads).
