Following on from the article I wrote about: Writing Content Successfully and thought it would be a good idea to get you to remember that there is real value in performing “consistent” updates to your Web site. Adding freshly written, original content on a weekly consistent basis will improve the number of times Google comes to visit and crawl your site.

Content freshness factors are much more effective than many people realise. Take advantage and make the extra effort and you will reap the benefit.

Here at Customerstreet we have implemented these changes and have a department that does continual updates to our trade specific directories. The project is to increase the overall coverage on the search engines to help our clients get found on the directories.

We have noticed an increase in pages indexed by Google due to the increase in pages on the directories. If you were to read a book today, would you read the same book next week? I think not. This is how Google thinks too, so updating and adding new content keeps Google on side and you will keep your listings and get more from the new pages that you add.
